Apple Unveils Next Generation of Apple Intelligence, Siri AI, and More at WWDC26

At WWDC26, Apple unveils the next generation of Apple Intelligence and Siri AI across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. Craig Federighi, Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering, said the company is delivering a profoundly more intelligent, knowledgeable, and capable assistant while expanding child safety tools and platform-wide software improvements slated for iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27 this fall.

Siri AI is an entirely new version of Siri built on a privacy-first architecture. It can answer questions about on-screen content, search across Messages, Mail, Photos, and other apps using personal context, and pull up-to-date information from the web. A dedicated Siri app lets users revisit conversations or start new ones, with history synced privately via iCloud. Apple Intelligence also powers system features such as Spatial Reframing in Photos, photorealistic Image Playground generation, Safari's Notify Me page monitoring, and one-tap suggestions in Messages.

Beyond AI, Apple introduced stronger parental controls. Child accounts enable age-appropriate protections, Setup Assistant lets parents choose which apps are available, and Communication Safety now intervenes against violent or gory content—not only nudity. Screen Time gains category-based daily allowances for Entertainment, Games, and Social Media, plus schedules informed by child development experts. Performance improvements include up to 30 percent faster app launches on iPhone and iPad, faster photo loading, and smoother cellular-to-Wi-Fi handoffs.

Developer betas are available today through the Apple Developer Program; a public beta follows next month, with free updates arriving this fall. Apple Intelligence and Siri AI require supported hardware and a supported language. Read more in Apple's WWDC26 press release.
