Cloud Atelier: How Gemini Enterprise Is Helping Restyle the Retail Playbook

Google Cloud is showcasing Cloud Atelier at Cannes, a destination-based virtual shopping experience built on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform that is helping restyle the retail playbook. The demo tackles a familiar travel dilemma — what to pack — and turns it into an agentic commerce journey where shoppers virtually try on wardrobes tailored to trip details, personal style, and live data such as weather forecasts and local fashion trends.

Unlike Google's Try On You feature in Search results, Cloud Atelier combines agentic commerce, personalized creative, and real-time execution into a context-aware, shoppable lookbook. Retail brands can move beyond static recommendation engines and respond directly to customer intent, guiding users from travel inspiration to a ready-to-buy cart.

Behind the experience, an orchestrator called the Wardrobe Planner agent coordinates specialized sub-agents built with Google ADK and deployed on Cloud Run. When a user describes an upcoming trip in natural language, Gemini extracts destination and dates, then dispatches research agents for weather via the Maps Weather API, culturally authentic activities, local trends, and hotel imagery through the Places API. Users select aesthetic preferences and upload a photo or avatar while the agents work in parallel.

The wardrobe planner synthesizes research into product recommendations, then a search sub-agent uses Vector Search and BigQuery inventory to match real items — understanding semantic relationships such as trench coats and rain shells. A content generation sub-agent leverages image models to visualize outfits against destination backdrops. Shoppers receive five interactive, shoppable looks and can check out via QR code, with motion previews powered by Veo 3.1.

Retailers including Kohl's, Lowe's, and Futuriza are already deploying Gemini Enterprise for gifting agents, kitchen inspiration, and virtual fitting rooms with measurable conversion lifts. Google has published a Cloud Atelier starter kit for developers. Read more on the Google Cloud Blog.
