Not every order is moving at the same pace. Droid Life writer Kellen said a personal Pixel 11 pre-order was still sitting in “Preparing shipment,” with a window of August 20–21, and that other buyers are seeing the same status. Google is splitting delivery between UPS and FedEx, depending on region and the shipping option chosen at checkout. The report notes that free shipping has been a reasonable default in recent Pixel generations, because Google has often still hit launch day without paid expedited delivery.

The more useful warning is about what a tracking page actually means. Shipping estimates stay unreliable until the carrier has the box. A printed label is not proof that a Pixel 11 has left Google’s warehouse — UPS or FedEx needs physical custody before the August 20 date is more than a target.

Pre-order promotions pulled many of those devices into carts weeks ago; the story this week is whether Google can convert those orders into on-time packages.
